Osteopathy in Walton on the Hill

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments, connective tissue and nervous system functioning smoothly together.

Treatment may include stretching, mobilising, manipulation and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and help the body’s own healing mechanisms. Advice may also be given on posture and exercise, to aid recovery, promote health
and prevent symptoms recurring.

All osteopaths practising in the UK are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), which was established in 1993 to regulate, promote and develop the osteopathic profession in the UK, maintaining a Statutory Register
of those entitled to practice osteopathy.
